As I remember September 11, 2001, I am reminded of another huge tragedy in American History. It occured on November 22, 1963 when President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, TX. This tragedy is similar to the attacks on the World Trade Center in the aspect that my parent's generation will always remember what they were doing with Kennedy was shot. My generation will forever know what they were doing on September 11, 2001.
I remember what I was doing. I was in Pop Choir and we had taken a break when Justin Davis ran out of the band room, which was right next to the choir room, and said thAmericanat a plane just flew into the Twin Towers. We ran into the choir room and turned on the TV and I watched in horror as they kept showing the replay of the second plane hitting the second tower. At first I thought maybe there was a plane malfunction but then the second plane hit and I knew that this was deliberate. I was angry, sad, and scared. If someone can do this to my country so easily, then what would stop them from doing it again. Mr. Harlan, the choir director, came in to the room and turned the TV off and said we can watch when we're done rehearsing. There were several people upset, myself included, with him over this. Now that it's been ten years, I look back and realize that it was probably the best thing to do. He did so that we would get our minds off it. We all worked the rest of the hour and then left. Every class that day had the TV on and we heard about the attack on the Pentagon. And then the bravery that was exerted by members of United 91 as they fought back. Unfortunately they all lost there lives but they are heroes because they prevented yet another attack. I find myself continue to get angry when i hear patriotic songs that are played for that reason and people from my generation and my parent's generation that do not remove there hats out of respect. It's like spitting on the flag in my opinion.
I will never forget September 11, 2001 and I pray that when I get older and older that my daughter's generation will never have to go through that.
In closing I just want to say that I am proud of my country and proud to be an American and
dare anyone to attack us because if they want to know what happens when you attack the USA, just ask Osama Bin Laden.......oh that's right, it may have taken almost ten years but WE GOT HIM!!!!!!

What if? Among other things
I've been looking back at my life recently and have been asking myself.....What if?
What if I hadn't jumped off that car?
What if I had spent more time on my studying instead of hanging out with friends at college?
What if I had never walked into that bar in Sedalia?
What if I had never moved to Texas?
What if I had grown up and been a man instead of still acting immature?
What would have happened to my life? Where would I be at this point? What decisions would I change.
There are some decisions I would change and then there are several decisions I would not change. I believe that the choices that people make sculpt them into the people that they are. There have been a couple of times in my life where I have made the worst decisions and there are times that I have made the best decisions. Most of the time I think that I wouldn't change anything for the world and then I look into my daughter's eyes and I see the innocence in them and I hate myself for what I put her through. That is the one decision that if I could go back in time and change what I did and the decisions I made involving her, I would in a heartbeat. There are things i wish I could tell her but I don't feel she wouldn't understand. There are things I wish I could tell Jessi but I know I will never be able to.
Well enough dwelling on the past. It's time to look to the future and tomorrow begins my work on "Dial M for Murder." I have auditions tomorrow for it and I am both nervous and excited. I am excited because it's a chance for me to step away from being on stage to being the director and helping shape the show to make it worth the time to see it. I am nervous because I have never directed in my hometown. I have directed three shows at college where not many people know me but here EVERYBODY knows me and I am nervous and afraid that the show is going to suck and that'll be the end of it and I will once again be back on stage and on stage is where I will stay. Where (raises imaginary glass) here's hoping. (takes imaginary drink)
Sam and i are doing well. I miss her but I got to play Dominoes over Skype the other day and let me tell it was not only difficult but funny as hell!!!!!!!!!!! She's hoping to come visit the first weekend in November to see the show. I really hope she can.
Well I think I've rambled on enough. I leave you with the following quote: "Can't do much with that now can we? Maybe it should have been a rule of wrist"
